Itinerary Tour 5 Sydney to Alice Springs 13 Days

Day 1 - Sydney NSW to Canberra ACT Australia.

First we welcome you to Across Australia Outback Tours and conduct a short induction. Then we head to the beautiful Seagate Bridge for a walk on the bridge and continue our drive South along the coast through Wollongong with a stop at Shellharbour. After lunch we head through Kiama, Nowra and climb the range to the Jerrawangala national park and stop at the lookout for some lunch. Next we head through Tarago and Bungendore and on to Canberra in the Australia Capital Territory for a tour taking in some of the key Canberra icons, buildings and Lake Burley Griffin. Then we check into our Holiday Park which is a good time to make use the mountain bikes and electric scooters to go exploring the Australian Capital, returning later to the Park for dinner, drinks and a chat.

Day 2 - Canberra ACT to Lake Hume NSW Australia.

In the morning we head through the NSW country side visiting towns and places like Yass, Gundagai, Little Billabong and We then drive on to Albury/Wodonga (the twin town between NSW and VIC). This is a beautiful regional town in which to take a walk and a ride on the mountain bikes and electric scooters to explore. Then its on to the start of mighty Murray River with a stop along the way at Lake Hume village and book in to the Holiday Park were I will prepare dinner while you enjoy drinks and relax by the lake after a busy day.

Day 3 - Lake Hume NSW to Echuca VIC Australia.

After an early breakfast we set off through VIC and Ned Kelly country and the historical towns of Beechworth and Wangaratta and on to the famous town of Glenrowen, site of Ned Kelly's Last stand, stopping for some lunch. Next we drive through to Shepparton and on to another historical town at Echuca on the mighty Murray River for a Paddle Steam boat ride. Again afterwards you have the opportunity make great use of the mountain bikes and electric scooters to explore. Later at our Holiday Park we enjoy dinner and drinks and a chat by the river.

Day 4 - Echuca VIC to Lorne VIC Australia.

Over breakfast we have time to discuss the route that we will take to Melbourne, Bendigo, Castlemaine and Ballarat. This is a day of exploring towns and cities and the places that you prefer to see. Later we head for the Narana Aboriginal Cultural Centre near Geelong with time for those that wish to spend a little time at the facility. Then we are on to the coast again beginning our Great Ocean Road trip starting at Torquay, site of the surfing mecca at Bells Beach. Continuing along the coast we stop at the seaside town of Lorne where for a relaxing dinner and drinks at our Holiday Park and maybe some exploring of the town.

Day 5 - Lorne VIC to Mount Gambier SA Australia.

After breakfast we continue along the spectacular Great Ocean Road visiting beautiful coves, beaches, cliffs and boardwalks and waterfalls on through the seaside villages of Apollo Bay, Cape Otway, Princetown, Port Campbell and Peterborough. There is a feast of coastal wonders featuring the beautiful Twelve Apostles, the Gorge, London Bridge, the Bay of Islands and The Cove. We stop whenever you wish with time to enjoy the experience and also a lunch stop at the place when you wish. After, we proceed on to the coastal town of Warrnambool, then through to the beautiful friendly town of Mount Gambier for our stay along side this unique blue water Volcano, this is a good opportunity to make great use of the mountain bikes and electric scooters to explore or ride around the blue water volcano and we book into our Holiday Park for dinner, drinks and a relaxing chat.

Day 6 - Mount Gambier SA to Barossa Valley SA Australia.

After breakfast by the volcano, we set off on another day of site-seeing along our beautiful coastline with more coastal villages and scenery before driving through to the Coonawarra wine-region stopping at one or two of the local wineries. Then we are off to Cape Jaffa and we head North to Murray Bridge and up through the Adelaide Hills and down into Adelaide for lunch and to stock up our supplies with some time to tour this City of Churches. After that we again head North to the Barossa Valley wine-region and there check into our Holiday Park with an opportunity for you to walk or ride for a visit to any of the many local wineries. On your return to the Holiday Park it will be a relaxing dinner and drinks and maybe you will taste a bottle of the local wine you may have collected over a chat.

Day 7 - Barossa Valley SA to Mildura VIC Australia.

After our breakfast we visit some wineries and head through to the beautiful town of Renmark and then on to Mildura in the Riverina agricultural region and check into our Holiday Park on the edge of the mighty Murray River. There is plenty to see and explore in this unique regional town making great use of the mountain bikes and electric scooters. Tonight we relax on the river-side for dinner and drinks.

Day 8 - Mildura VIC to Broken Hill NSW Australia.

We have an early start this morning and after breakfast we head off North to Broken Hill. This town has much history and many places of interest to visit including the Pro Hart gallery, the historic BHP mine site and of course the little town of Silverton, the site of the Mad Max movie. We should get into Broken Hill by early afternoon giving us plenty of time to look around the town and its attractions. After our touring we check into our Holiday Park for drinks, a chat and dinner and maybe an evening stroll along the historic main street.

Day 9 - Broken Hill NSW to Lake Hart SA Australia.

After breakfast we head to Woomera, this is where the atomic bomb was tested and is still today a military rocket and missile test area, we then head to Wirraminna Lake Hart for our one and only free camp under the stars right next to this beautiful flat white dry lake, a sight to be seen. This is a great time to use the mountain bikes and Sacks Madass motorbike to explore the white lake and surrounding area, then back for drinks chat and Dinner. I will cook you dinner while you sit on the edge of the white dry lake to watch the beautiful sunset.

Day 10 - Lake Hart SA to Coober Pedy SA Australia.

From the beauty of white Lake Hart we head to the town of Coober Pedy one of our major opal mining towns. Here we stay in a quirky underground Hotel for the night with plenty of time to explore the opal town on the mountain bikes or electric scooters and the opal fileds before dinner, drinks and a chat back at our Hotel.

Day 11 - Coober Pedy SA to Kings Canyon NT Australia.

We have an early start, this part of the tour takes us to Marla Road House. We stop here to experience a stop at an authentic Australian Road House in the Red Centre with it's old pub and the chance to chat with a locals or just relax in the outback facilities. We then head to Kings Canyon to capture the beauty of the Red Centre. This will be a big day and after arriving at Kings Canyon you have the opportunity in the late afternoon or early morning of walking the 3 hour circuit along the rim of this stunning canyon stopping for breathtaking views down into the canyon gorge. Then its back to our Kings Canyon Holiday Park for a relaxing drink and dinner in the expansive Australian outback.

Day 12 Kings Canyon NT to Ayres Rock (Uluru) NT Australia.

We leave Kings Canyon after breakfast and head into the Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park to visit the spectacular Ayres Rock. We stop at 3 viewing points and lookouts along the way. At one we view a small lone mountain as well as 2 great viewing points for photo opportunities of Ayres Rock. Then we check into our Holiday Park with time to make use of the mountain bikes and electric scooters to explore the local area. Then its time for dinner and drinks with the wonderful view the Rock as it progressively changes colour approaching sunset. And then its time to relax under a beautiful outback star-filled night

Day 13 - Ayres Rock (Uluru) NT to Alice Spring NT Australia.

This is the day you can explore Ayres Rock, Alice Springs. You can either use the mountain bikes or electric scooters to go exploring or we can go exploring in the motorhome, your choice. At the end of the day we take you to wherever you are staying in Alice Springs or to Alice Springs Airport.
