Itinerary Tour 6 Alice Springs to Sydney 13 Days

Day 1 - Alice Springs NT to Ayres Rock (Uluru) NT Australia.

On this your first day we welcome you to Across Australia Outback Tours and conduct a short induction. We leave Alice Springs and head to Ayres Rock (Uluru). We make a few stops along the way at the viewing point lookouts. There is a lot more to Ayers Rock then just the rock itself, so once we have booked into our Holiday Park you can go off exploring on the mountain bikes or electric scooters. Then back to the holiday park for dinner and sunset drinks and chat about the day's exploring.

Day 2 - Ayres Rock NT to Kings Canyon NT Australia.

After breakfast we leave Ayres Rock (Uluru) and head on a scenic drive through this rugged country to Kings Canyon. Once there you have the opportunity of walking the 3 hour circuit along the rim of the stunning canyon with stops for breathtaking views down into the canyon gorge. Then it is on to our Holiday Park for a relaxing drink at sunset while we cook you dinner and you relax for a chat about the days events.

Day 3 - Kings Canyon to Coober Pedy SA Australia.

After breakfast we head to Marla on a scenic drive through some outback rugged country. This part of the tour takes us to Marla Road House and a stop at an authentic Australian road house. We leave the beautiful Marla Road House and head to Coober Pedy, an opal mining town, where we stay in an underground Hotel for the night. This is another opportunity to make great use of the mountain bikes and electric scooters to explore or just walk around and explore this quirky town. Then it's back to the hotel for dinner and drinks.

Day 4 - Coober Pedy SA to Lake Hart SA Australia.

After breakfast we head out on a scenic drive through some unique countryside to Wirraminna Lake Hart for our one and only free camp. We camp under the stars right next to this beautiful flat white dry lake, a picturesque experience. This is a great time to again make use of the two mountain bikes and electric scooters to explore the white lake and surrounding areas. Then back for drinks and a chat over dinner. I will cook while you sit at the edge of the white dry lake to watch the sunset and star-rise.

Day 5 - Lake Hart SA to Broken Hill NSW Australia.

After breakfast we head to Woomera. This is where the atomic bomb was tested and is still today a military area and missile test range. We then head to Port Augusta and on to Broken Hill. This is a historic town with many places or interest. On the way we discuss your preferences for the attractions you would like to visit. We should get to Broken Hill early afternoon which gives us some time to go exploring. Or you can make great use of the mountain bikes and electric scooters to explore or we can just tour the town in the Motorhome. Then it is on to our Holiday Park for drinks, chat and dinner.

Day 6 - Broken Hill NSW to Mildura VIC Australia.

After breakfast and maybe some more touring around Broken Hill, we head through to the beautiful town of Mildura on the NSW/VIC border and book into our Holiday Park on the edge of the mighty Murray River. This is another opportunity to make great use of the mountain bikes and electric scooters to explore this unique river-side wine-region town or just spend a relaxing afternoon by the river. Once everyone is back to our holiday park we settle in for dinner and sunset drinks on the banks of the Murray River.

Day 7 - Mildura VIC to Barossa Valley SA Australia.

After breakfast we visit some Barossa Valley wineries and head through to the beautiful town of Renmark and a tour of the wine country of South Australia. We book into our Holiday Park and this is another place to make use of the Mountain Bikes and electric scooters to maybe explorie the local wineries. Then it's back to our Holiday Park for drinks, chat and dinner.

Day 8 - Barossa Valley SA to Mount Gambier SA Australia.

After a late breakfast we head into Adelaide for look around this beautiful city of churches. After stocking up with supplies we will have lunch. Then its off up through the Adelaide hills and on to the town of Murray Bridge. From there we head to Cape Jaffa and then we have the afternoon of exploring along our beautiful South Australian coastline and seaside towns with a drive through Coonawarra wine country and a stop at one or two of the wineries. We then book into our Holiday Park right on the edge of the Blue Water Volcano at Mount Gambier. Here you are able to walk around or make use of the mountain bikes and electric scooters to explore the dormant volcano. Then back to the Holiday Park for dinner, chat and drinks.

Day 9 - Mount Gambier SA to Lorne VIC Australia.

We have an early start and leave Mount Gambier and head to Warrnambool further along the beautiful Victorian coastline visiting the coastal towns along the way of Nelson, Portland and Port Fairy. Then it's on to the seaside coastal town of Warrnambool. This is the start of touring and experiencing the Great Ocean Road icons. We head along the spectacular Great Ocean Road with its beautiful coves, beaches, cliffs and the historic sea-side towns of Peterborough, Port Campbell, Princetown and Cape Otway. We visit the must see icons of The Cove, the Bay of Islands, London Bridge, the Gorge and the Twelve Apostles. We will take in all the beauty of these natural wonders as we stop as required and for lunch at any place which takes your fancy. Following the Great Ocean Road we pass through the sea-side town of Apollo Bay viewing its beautiful waterfall. Then its on then into the mountains and the beautiful drive along the cliffs edge to Lorne. Here we book into our Holiday Park for dinner, drinks and maybe a beach walk.

Day 10 - Lorne VIC to Echuca VIC Australia.

Over Breakfast we discuss the route we will take to visit the Narana Aboriginal Cultural Centre at Geelong visiting Torquay, the home of Bells Beach. After we head for Melbourne, Ballarat, Castlemaine and Bendigo. This is a day of exploring places, towns, and cities that you all wish to see so I will follow your preferences. Then it is on to the beautiful Murray River and the historic river town of Echuca to book into our Holiday Park on the edge of the mighty Murray River for dinner, chat and sunset drinks and maybe a river-bank stroll.

Day 11 - Echuca VIC to Lake Hume NSW Australia.

After breakfast we are booked on a Paddle Steamer trip on the mighty Murray River with an insight into some of the river's history. We then head into Ned Kelly country and the famous town of Glenrowen the site of Ned Kelly's last stand. Then through to Wangaratta and the historical town of Beechworth high in the mountains and on to Albury/Wodonga (this is the border crossing between Victoria and New South Wales), then on to Lake Hume. Here we have another great opportunity to take to the mountain bikes or electric scooters to really explore this lake. Once you are all back at the the Holiday Park it's dinner, drinks and time to relax after your busy day on the edge of Lake Hume.

Day 12 - Lake Hume NSW to Canberra ACT Australia.

We head through the NSW country side visiting towns and places like, Little Billabong, Gundagai, Yass and then it on to the Canberra Australian National Capital Territory. Here we tour the city showcasing some of the key Canberra icons, buildings and Lake Burley Griffin. We book into our Holiday Park with time for everyone to utilise the mountain bikes or take the electric scooters to go exploring. Once everyone is back to the Holiday Park it is time for dinner and a great time to reflect and chat.

Day 13 - Canberra ACT to Sydney NSW Australia.

This is our final day together and we head along the sea-side to the coastal city of Woolongong through rolling hills, over rivers and past coastal towns and beautiful scenery. We stop where required and proceed on to the beautiful ocean view Seagate Bridge for a walk on the cliff-side bridge. We will then travel along the coast into Sydney and view Bondi Beach, Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and Darling Harbour stopping for lunch as you wish maybe at the Botanical Gardens overlooking historic Fort Denison and Sydney Harbour. We finally deliver you to wherever you are staying in Sydney or to the Sydney International Airport at the end of the day as you wish.
